Manifest Destiny & the future.

Hi everybody, and welcome to the new First Falling Leaf website!

On behalf of the whole team here at First Falling Leaf, we’d like to thank everyone for their continued interest and support in us, and in particularly the SINS Roleplaying Game. It’s been great to see a little community and fandom emerge from around the world around something that was once solely confined to our heads and our gaming table. We know that over the years since the Kickstarter, though you may have seen our pretty faces at conventions, there hasn’t seemed to be a lot of activity with regards to the development of the game, and in particular with the faction packs that were a part of the Kickstarter stretch goals. We’ve felt quite guilty about that given the support and interest we’ve been given, and we hope we didn’t let anyone down or turn them off what we’re doing as an indie outfit.

While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,
As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.
“’Tis some indie dev,” I muttered, “tapping at my chamber door—
Only updates, and nothing more.”

We want to tell you that the goal for follow-up content was never abandoned, and the good news is that it will be fulfilled this summer. Since we wrapped up the Kickstarter, we’ve all moved through various day jobs and commitments, though with some recent internal developments, we’ve been fortunate to dedicate more full-time attentions to SINS and other First Falling Leaf projects. Hence, this website stands before you. Moreover, the actual follow-up content for SINS proved to be substantially larger than the original planned mini-updates. As interest in SINS grew, so too did the calls for content and expansion, and we wanted to deliver on those requests. As such, we are going to be releasing the first full supplement for SINS as soon as we can, as SINS: Manifest Destiny.

This book includes detailed additional information on all the major factions, including both new lore information and a wealth of new mechanics for player characters pledging allegiance to organisations such as The Breakers, Thorns or Dominion.

Wake The River, a work-in-progress Blood Arietta favoured by The Thorns, is just one of the many new additions coming to SINS: Manifest Destiny.

These faction explorations include a variety of new weaponry and equipment, along with vehicle stats and accompanying rules to introduce them in games. In addition, this supplement also includes a variety of new Arietta and a totally new power set in the form of Refinements.

We want you to know that it was originally our intention to launch Manifest Destiny earlier this year, but due to the current situation worldwide those plans had to be temporarily put on hold. As it stands, we’re currently waiting on much of the remaining artwork for Manifest Destiny and given everything that’s going on, we honestly don’t know exactly when that’ll become available.

The King of the Wild Frontier leads the Park Rangers against the Brood.

The art that Will is giving to us is phenomenal (see above!) and we can’t wait to show you more. Unfortunately, with the way the world is right now, getting creative projects turned over and out the door is a little hard – more so when we’re working to such a high standard.

Given that we keep moving forward with both SINS and other new projects, we’ve decided that rather than delaying the release further, we’re going to release a temporary, art-free PDF version of Manifest Destiny to the original Kickstarter backers of the SINS Kickstarter. The text is 80% done, we just have a few little bits to add and test, which we can do internally on a timeframe largely unaffected by current events. This way, it’s in your hands, useable for your games and campaigns as soon as possible, and we’re ready to move forward with new, future content. All being well, Manifest Destiny will release in full, illustrated, both digitally and physically later this year – and we’ll be revealing more details of its content and upcoming projects in the weeks ahead.

Once again, thank you from everyone here at First Falling Leaf. Stay safe out there, and know that we wish you all the best.

– The First Falling Leaf Team
